Unlike, the Kelpie or Water Horse, the Hippocampus was a benevolent creature. Closely linked to Poseidon, the god of the sea, it often appeared in classical art pulling his chariot through the waves and helping humans to cross dangerous waters. Its dignified form was also used to decorate elaborate pottery and tombs, suggesting an association with the afterlife—perhaps being symbols of the desire for a safe journey, both in life and beyond.

I adore this pin! It is SO cute and I absolutely love all the pins I got from Versiris! My favorite thing about this one (besides the fact that I love opossums) is not just the spooky-cute but the sort of gory-cute. This pin is very high-quality, too. I’m sure I will be getting more Versiris designs in the future!
I love rabbits. I love bats. Now here they come as a Bat bunny! Cute little terror it brings to mind bunicula. And this was also what I looked forward to the most in the pin package~

I am blown away by how gorgeous the pin is. I've been mulling over getting one for a while, and I'm so thankful I did. I was surpised at how big it is, but in a good way. It has so much detail and the color+glitter stands out beautifully. The fact that it's numbered on the back (mine is 11/15) really makes it feel like a collector's pin. I cannot recommend these pins enough - if you like them, get one!
